Project responsibilities included; the preparation and submittal of a “Hazardous Commodities” storage permit along with a comprehensive life safety report that outlined the primary code requirements for fire & life safety features. The facility includes 1,000+ seat lecture halls and theaters and fosters collaborative research in science and engineering by providing dynamic lab spaces that can provide varying research opportunities. Project responsibilities included; the preparation and submittal of multiple Fire Protection Reports to determine future occupancy suitability for this existing, 40+ year-old structure that had been unoccupied for several decades. The UNLV School of Medicine also sought permits to occupy multiple floors, in their entirety, within this structure. To achieve this, PCNA Group performed evaluations of existing fire protection and life safety features throughout the building, made determinations on required upgrades, mitigations, and exclusions, and negotiated approvals that were ultimately permitted by the City of Las Vegas for this pending occupancy. The project was delivered on time and within the original budget.
Project Responsibilities included; code consulting, egress design, and accessibility analysis for multiple University of Phoenix campuses across the United States, including Bakersfield, CA; Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Southfield, MI; Kansas City, KS; and Las Vegas, NV. Every project necessitated assisting the design teams to obtain AHJ approvals.
Project responsibilities included; providing egress design drawings and IBC/NFPA code support for multiple buildings on this rapidly growing university campus, including facilities in the general use area (i.e. Theater, Offices, and Library), Women’s Campus (i.e. Dormitory, Classroom Buildings, Laboratories, and Gymnasium), and Men’s Campus (i.e. Dormitory, Classroom Buildings, and Gymnasium). This project was delivered on time and within the original budget.
