The facility was designed to foster collaborative research in science and engineering and is equipped with dynamic lab spaces that can convert from one use to another and includes 1,000+ seat lecture halls and theaters. Project responsibilities included; building & fire code analysis and ADA/accessibility site inspections, under the 2012 IBC & 2010 ADA, for this existing, approx. 320,000-sf facility consisting of classrooms, lecture halls, dining commons, library, planetarium, gymnasium, and 1,500 seat performing arts venue. The project resulted in a mitigation report to outline compliance steps needed to achieve full compliance with current codes & standards. This will allow future renovations & expansion projects to be done within a compliance baseline. The project was delivered on time and within the original budget.
Project responsibilities included; ADA/accessibility code compliance review and an alternate methods & materials request for the new community center building with multiple assembly spaces, meeting rooms, and common-use areas. The alternate allowed sprinklers to be omitted for the existing, adjacent senior center building. This project was delivered on time, and at a substantial cost savings to the public.
Project responsibilities included; plans-check review of building, fire, accessibility, and egress elements for this 4-story student fitness center including psychological counseling and medical health clinic. The building included the “whole-building” atrium that required multiple active fire protection systems within the design to achieve full code compliance. This project was delivered on time and within the budget.
Project responsibilities included; compliance review of building, fire & life safety, accessibility, and egress design elements for the approx. 120,000-sf, 2-story addition to the existing building. The new usage spaces of the facility include a 2,000-seat auditorium, film rooms, locker rooms, and coach/ staff offices. The project was delivered on time and the original within budget.
Project responsibilities included; providing full ADA/accessibility design review and site inspections, egress design drawings, construction phasing access diagrams, and peer review of the fire protection report for this 250,000 sf, 5-story, $40M nightclub and restaurant located at the main rotunda entrance to the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino.
Project responsibilities included; full code analysis services including fire protection & life safety, egress design, as well as accessibility design review for renovations to various, existing casino spaces to be used as for assembly/conference purposes including theaters, meeting rooms, ballrooms, break-out rooms, show room, and karaoke lounge as well as review of the hotel’s valet and corporate headquarters. PCNA Group has also performed various tenant improvement fire protection reports, sprinkler fire alarm reviews, and alternate sprinkler design & CO2 fire permit submittals that were ultimately approved for the property. The project was delivered on time and within the budget.
