PCNA Group provided; code consulting, fire protection system analysis and egress design for the expansion and renovation approx. 4,000 SF shelter into an approx. 8,000 SF facility that was modified to better accommodate; animal intake, veterinary health care services, cat-adoption spaces and employee service spaces. This resulted in a significantly larger and better organized facility that was needed to address the rapidly growing population in the Mesquite, Nevada area.
This newly proposed 35,000 SF outdoor shade structure (intended to cover an earth-surface equestrian court) required automatic sprinklers per local 2012 IBC amendments. PCNA Group prepared an Alternate Methods & Materials request to justify omitting sprinklers for this non-combustible structure. This resulted in the project being able to be delivered on time and within the original budget constraints.
Project responsibilities included ADA/ Accessibility compliance review and Alternate Methods & Materials request for the new Community Center Building. The Alternate allowed the existing (adjacent) Senior Center building to remain as a non-sprinklered building. This project was delivered on time, without unanticipated budget cost to the public.
Project responsibilities included plans-check review of building, fire, accessibility, and egress elements for this 4-story student fitness center with fitness, psychological counseling, and medical health clinic. The building included “whole-building” atrium that required multiple active fire protection systems in the design to achieve full code compliance. This project was delivered on time and within budget.
